About the Creator

A marketplace built for educators, by an educator.

Hi, I'm Walter Wimberly.

I am a college professor teaching computer science, a web developer, a home school parent to our special needs son, and the creator of TeacherShare.

Why I'm Building TeacherShare

As an educator based in the US, I know firsthand the immense amount of time, expertise, and passion that goes into creating high-quality course materials. Whether it's designing assessments, structuring daily lesson plans, or even building supplemental material - the work teachers do is invaluable.

With some recent changes to a popular platform that many teachers use, I realized there was a need for a fair, community-driven platform that truly respects and rewards that effort.

The Technical Advantage

Many educational marketplaces are run by large corporations that are completely disconnected from the reality of the classroom. I bring a unique perspective: I spend my days teaching, and my evenings writing code.

With a deep background in custom web application development, I am building TeacherShare from the ground up. This means the platform isn't reliant on outsourced development teams. Instead, it is being meticulously engineered by someone who actively uses these systems, ensuring the site is fast, secure, and built specifically around the features teachers actually request.

The Vision

My goal with TeacherShare is simple: provide an intuitive, transparent, and teacher-led space where educators can share their hard work and access the exact resources they need to help their students succeed. Because I write the code myself, TeacherShare can adapt quickly to what our community wants—without the corporate red tape.

Help Shape the Platform

I want this platform to be built around what you need most. Take a moment to share your thoughts.
